2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use an online service. Cookies can help a service remember your browser, keep you signed in, protect sessions, store consent choices, support security, improve performance, and measure how visitors use a website.

In this policy, “cookies” also includes similar technologies that store or read information from your device, such as local storage, session storage, and secure device storage in the mobile app.

3. Where This Policy Applies

This policy applies to:

  • the Commercial Website;
  • the App;
  • logged-in account access;
  • Guest access, including SafeShare or other guest-access features; and
  • related EZM5 pages or services that link to this policy.

It does not apply to third-party websites, app stores, payment providers, device platforms, browsers, or services that are not controlled by EZM5. Those third parties are governed by their own cookie, privacy, and data practices.

4. Types of Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

EZM5 uses a limited set of cookies and similar technologies. They fall into two main categories: essential technologies and analytics cookies.

4.1 Essential Technologies

Essential technologies are necessary for the Services to work securely and reliably. They support functions such as login, session management, Guest access, CSRF protection, authentication-token storage, caching, and remembering your cookie preference.

We may use essential technologies without asking for consent where they are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested or to keep the Services secure. If you block or delete essential cookies or storage, some parts of the Services may not work properly, and you may be unable to sign in, stay signed in, access shared content, or maintain a secure session.

4.2 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Commercial Website so we can measure traffic, understand which pages are useful, identify performance issues, and improve the website.

On the Commercial Website, we use Google Analytics for this purpose. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish users and maintain session state. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from technical data, device and browser information, referring pages, interactions with the website, and visit timing.

Analytics cookies are not required for the Services to function. Where consent is required, we only use analytics cookies after you accept them. If you reject analytics cookies, the Commercial Website will still work.

We do not use cookies for third-party advertising, behavioral advertising, remarketing, or targeted advertising.

5. Technologies Used on EZM5

The exact cookie names, expiration periods, and technical settings may vary as our tools are updated, but the technologies we currently use are described below.

6. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is provided by Google. It helps us understand use of the Commercial Website. We use it for website statistics and product-improvement insight, not for advertising, remarketing, or targeted advertising.

Google Analytics may process information on our behalf and may also process information according to Google’s own terms and privacy documentation. You can learn more about Google’s privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

You may also use browser settings, privacy tools, or Google’s available opt-out tools to limit Google Analytics tracking.

7. Cookie Choices

When you first visit the Commercial Website, the website may show a cookie banner that lets you accept or reject optional analytics cookies.

If you select “Accept”, Google Analytics cookies may be used on the Commercial Website. If you select “Reject”, analytics cookies are not used for your visit, unless you later change your choice.

Your choice does not disable essential technologies. Essential technologies remain active because they are needed for security, consent management, caching, login, session continuity, Guest access, and App operation.

You can change or reset your Commercial Website cookie choice using the cookie preference option made available on the website, where available. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings, which may cause the banner or preference selection to appear again.

The App and the Web app do not use analytics cookies. Since they only use essential cookies, they do not need a separate cookie banner.

8. Browser and Device Controls

Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or limit cookies. These settings are usually available under privacy, security, or site-data settings in your browser.

Mobile operating systems may also allow you to clear app data, delete the app, or manage device-level privacy settings.

If you block all cookies, the Commercial Website may still load, but some preferences may not be remembered. The web app may not function correctly because session and security cookies are needed for login, Guest access, and protected requests. If you delete mobile app storage, you may be logged out or need to authenticate again.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Signals

Some browsers or extensions may send “Do Not Track” or similar signals. Because there is not a single consistent technical standard for all such signals, the Services may not respond to every browser signal in the same way.

Where required by applicable law or supported by our tools, we will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals for non-essential analytics. In all cases, you can reject optional analytics cookies through the Commercial Website cookie banner or available cookie preference controls.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookies, technologies, legal requirements, or Services. When we update this policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
